Is the car controlled by you as well?

The car is a Peugeot 208 with dual controls- which means the brake and clutch can be operated by myself at all times in the front passenger seat.

Is it safer having lessons during the daytime?

There is no difference as the car is dual controlled so you never get into a dangerous situation. Also driving at night is a good experience, and something you’ll often need to do once you’ve passed your test.

Is the test centre I use important?

It’s better to take your test at a test centre where you know the area, but you are taught to drive the car in all situations not just to pass the test.

How much do the tests cost?

A weekday test costs £62 and a weekend test costs £75. Also the cost of a lesson is on top of this as you’ll be using my car. So it really is important to be at a stage where you feel confident enough to take and pass the test!

Do I have to pay to cancel a lesson?

If you give me 24 hours notice of a cancellation this gives another pupil opportunity to book a lesson in that time so you wouldn’t have to pay. Under 24 hours you will pay except for special circumstances.

Which areas do you cover?

I cover the south Manchester area including Hyde, Stalybridge, Reddish, The Heatons, Burnage and several others- please call me on 07968 111982 to check.

What do I need to do before I take my driving test?

You must have passed the theory test to apply for a driving test, as the certificate number from this is required for your driving test. You can start driving lessons before you take your theory test though, and have a better chance of passing the Theory Test from what you learn on the lessons. The theory test costs £23 to take, and is done at one of several places in Manchester- the nearest in my area being at Kings Gate on Wellington Road in Stockport.
